My name is Jacob Koeppe and I am an independent animator and animation artist, but the journey to get there wasn't an easy one.

I was born in a car from my birth parents and was very weak and frail. It wasn't until my soon to be adoptive parents and older sister who would gaze upon me and loved me instantly.

Despite the doctors saying that my chances of living were slim, they took care of me and gave me the love I needed anyways. After I was nursed back to health, I was adopted by them and became a part of a caring inclusive diverse family.

I was able to talk, but I would watch Disney films and musicals and reenact and act out scenes and actions to ask what I want. It wasn't until I was five years old that I was finally able to talk. Many years later after being diagnosed and participated in speech classes on the side, I would then find my new dream in creating animation when I took some classes in high school for two years. After completing high school, I interned at the Animation Guild and worked alongside with Alex Topete, a former Disney animator, on an animated short film project. Following that, I enrolled in more animation and art related courses in community college and graduated with Bachelor's and honors. Suddenly, the pandemic hit and with the lockdowns in place, I decided to create my own original animated web series entitled Animation Princi-PALS. It stars a group of original 1920's style cartoon characters who created the 12 Principles of Animation but were not given their chance in the limelight until an animator almost a century later reanimated them. With the help of the show, it lead to more opportunities such as creating an animated fairy named Marceline for the YouTube theme park vlogging channel that I run called The Lost Boys and Girls, multiple art and animation commissions and of course becoming an animation artist at Pathpoint. So overall, art and animation has always been a way for me to express myself and my journey is far from over.
